The National Quality Framework (NQF) sets high standards for early childhood education and care across Australia. It includes:
- National Quality Standard (NQS): Benchmarks for educational and developmental outcomes
- Approved Learning Frameworks: Like the EYLF (see below)
- Quality ratings: Centres are assessed and rated against 7 quality areas
- Educator qualifications and child-to-educator ratios
Our centre follows the NQF to ensure we provide safe, high-quality, and inclusive education and care. We take pride in meeting or exceeding these standards, and our commitment to continuous improvement is at the heart of everything we do.
The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is Australia’s national curriculum framework for children from birth to five years. It guides our educational programs and supports your child’s learning in the crucial early years.
The EYLF focuses on five key learning outcomes:
- Children have a strong sense of identity
- Children are connected with and contribute to their world
- Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
- Children are confident and involved learners
- Children are effective communicators
Our educators use the EYLF to plan meaningful, play-based learning experiences that help children develop skills in language, problem-solving, social interaction, and emotional regulation – setting them up for success in school and beyond.
Your child’s health and safety are our highest priority. If your child has allergies, asthma, anaphylaxis, or any other medical condition, we follow a strict Medical Management Plan process, which includes:
- Collecting detailed information and documentation from your child’s GP or specialist
- Creating an individualised medical action plan (including medication procedures)
- Storing and administering medication safely and accurately
- Regular staff training in First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis Management
- Allergy-aware practices in our kitchen and classrooms (including nut-free zones where necessary)
All our educators are trained to recognise symptoms and respond appropriately in the event of an emergency. We also partner closely with families to keep plans up to date and ensure consistency between home and care.
We believe that strong communication between families and educators is essential. That’s why we provide multiple ways to stay informed and involved in your child’s day:
- Daily updates via our secure family app: Photos, learning stories, meals, sleep, and toileting are shared in real time
- Face-to-face chats at drop-off and pick-up times.
- Monthly newsletters with centre news, upcoming events, and curriculum highlights
- Parent-teacher meetings twice a year to discuss developmental progress
- Open-door policy – you’re welcome to call or visit any time
We strive to build a true partnership with families, ensuring that everyone feels confident, supported, and always in the loop about your child’s wellbeing and development.
